The 3rd biennial district conference of Tezpur SSA in Assam was held on 16-07-2016 at Old Telephone Exchange Recreation Club, Tezpur.  Com. Maheswar Bhuyan, Retired DE presided.

Office bearers were elected unanimously with the following important functionaries.

The entire bank employees in the country under the banner of United Forum of Bank Unions are striking work on 29th July, 2016 against the anti-people banking reforms of the central government. The banking sector including co-operative and Grammeen will come to a standstill due to the strike.

AIBDPA fully supports the strike and extends its solidarity to the striking bank employees.

Smt. Mahasweta Devi  who was honoured with Jnanpith and the Magasaysay awards has passed away on 28th July, 2016 at an hospital in Kolkata. She was a great fighter for the oppressed and the poor and in this endeavour she did not confine to her literary works but also was active in social activities.

AIBDPA pays respectful homage to Smt.Mahasweta Devi and conveys condolences to the bereaved family.

District Branch in Salem organised a meeting to celebrate the victory for achieving 78.2% IDA fixation and annulment of 60:40 condition. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of Telephone Excange, Sevaipetai, Salem on 28-07-2016 under the presidentship of Com.P.Ramasamy, District President. Com. K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary in his special address stressed the need to strengthen the organisation. Coms. S.
