Today, 26th October, 2015 Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, Advisor and Com.K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary have met Shri.Rakesh Garg, Secretary, DoT and discussed the issue of the undue and unwarranted delay on 78.2% IDA merger to BSNL pensioners retired before 10-06-2013. They conveyed the strong resentment and protest of the BSNL pensioners on this important issue.

They told the Secretary, DoT that the issue is reported to have become complicated as it was mixed with the proposal of undoing the cabinet decision on 60:40 in the cabinet note for 78.2% IDA merger. They pointed out that the pensioners are very much concerned about the 60:40 issue and want it to be undone. But it has to be dealt separately and the issue of extending the benefit 78.2% IDA merger to the BSNL pensioners retired before 10-06-2013 has to be delinked from it.  Only because of this mix up, the Department of Expenditure is returning the file time and again seeking several clarifications.

The Secretary DoT assured that he will do the needful immediately.
