Supreme Court on Thursday restrained Subroto Roy and other senior
officials of Sahara from making foriegn travel.
The upex court clamped down on Sahara for making mockery of its order
of last month in which Sahara was asked to deposit the title deeds of its
assets as two group companies had failed to pay Rs.20000 crore found to
be irregularly collected from investors.It had directed the amount to be
refunded to investors through SEBI.
Sahara firms had refunded only Rs.5120 crore to Sebi and said only Rs.2000
crore were outstanding as the rest was refunded through
its field offiices
The order was passed by the Supreme Court on the complaint of Sebi
for failure of Sahara to comply with the upex courts earlier oder..
