TRAI RULES OUT FREE ROAMING.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has said that a blanket
waiver on mobile roaming charges is not feasible..
But this is contrary to the stand taken. by Communications and
IT Minister,Kapil Sibal who had earlier announced that all roaming
charges would be waived from 1st October,2013.
The TRAI has made it mandatory for mobile operators to introduce
special vouchers for roaming users. But this is nothing new and
such vouchers are already in the market. After all the users may get
a discount of about 30%.
The decision of TRAI is to benifit the telecom companies rather
than the customers.
