ASSAM CIRCLE CONFERENCE HELD AT TINSUKIA MOST SUCCESSFULLY.

The 3rd biennial circle conference of Assam has been held most successfully at Durgabari, hall, Tinsukia on 28th February and 1st March, 2015. The AIBDPA flag was hoisted by Com. Manabendra Saha, Circle President, followed by homage to the martyrs.

The inaugural session started at 11 AM under the president ship of Com. Manabendra Saha. Com. M.C. Gohain, Vice Chairman, Reception Committee welcomed the gathering. The conference paid respectful homage to Com.S. K. Vyas, Secretary General, BCPC & NCCPA. Com.K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary inaugurated the conference. In his elaborate inaugural address, General Secretary dealt almost all the issues confronting the pensioners, memorandum submitted to the 7th Pay Commission and the proposed strike in BSNL by Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations. He also explained the current position in respect of 78.2% IDA merger to BSNL pensioners. Com. S. N. Sarma presented the biennial report and Com. K. Sinha, Treasurer the audited accounts.9 comrades participated in the discussion that followed. After the clarifications by the Circle Secretary and Treasurer, both the report and accounts were adopted.

An open session was also held on the same day at 3.30 PM with Com. Manabendra Saha, Circle President in the chair. Com. D. K. Barua, Chairman, Reception Committee delivered the welcome address. Com.K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary, Com. Bijoy Dekha, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, Com. Mamoni Duttu,CITU, Com. Mahendra Barua, Assam Electricity Board Pensioners Association, Com. Prasanta Baruah, ACS, BSNLEU, Com. M.R.Das, Assistant General Secretary, and Com. Swarup Kr Dey, District Secretary, BSNLEU addressed the open session. Com. C. R. Borthakur, General Convenor, Reception Committee proposed vote of thanks.

The subject session continued on 01-03-2015 and discussed thoroughly the issues and the organizational matters. Initiating the discussion, Com. S. N. Sarma presented the issues and 14 comrades actively participated in the discussion. Intervening in the discussion, Com.K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary and Com. M. R. Das, AGS effectively and convincingly spoke. Com. S. N. Sarma, Circle Secretary, summed up the discussion.

The conference,then, elected a 19 member office bearers unanimously, with Com. Manabendra Saha (President) Com. Sailendra Nath Sarma (Circle Secretary) and Com. K. Sinha (Treasurer).

The conference also adopted resolutions on important issues and thanking the Reception Committee for the excellent arrangements for the successful conduct of the conference.
